And that was not her only tribute to the regretted legend.
In another tweet, she wrote: ‘I LOVED #PennyMarshall ! The first time I met her, I spontaneously threw my arms around her, and she didn’t mind a bit. She was so awesome!’
The NCIS alum is joining a long list of big names that have been remembering Penny Marshall, including Carrie Ann Inaba, George Takei, Mayim Bialik, Mark Wahlberg, Bette Midler, Tom Hanks, and Reese Witherspoon.
Marshall, who was 75, apparently passed away at her home in the Hidden Hills on Monday due to some diabetes complications.
The legend’s close ones released the following statement via TMZ: ‘Our family’s heartbroken over the passing of Penny Marshall. Penny was a tomboy who really loved sports, doing all kinds of puzzles, drinking milk and Pepsi together and spending time with her family.’
In another statement to the New York Daily News, they also remembered her as a ‘girl from the Bronx, who came to the West, put a cursive ‘L’ on her sweater and just transformed herself into a Hollywood success story.’
Rest in Peace, Penny Marshall.
