The White House has officially announced that First Lady Melania Trump is now recovering from a kidney surgery! Apparently, she underwent an ‘embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition.’
Reportedly, she will most likely remain in the hospital throughout the entire week.
The statement read: ‘The procedure was successful and there were no complications. The First Lady looks forward to her full recovery so she can then continue her work on behalf of children everywhere.’
In addition to that, Spokesperson Stephanie Grisham also assured the public that Melania is in ‘good spirits and recovering well.’
CNN has reported that POTUS Donald Trump was at the White House while his wife was in surgery but that he is set to pay her a visit in the hospital pretty soon.
The news about her health problem comes only a week after Melania Trump announced her brand new initiative titled ‘Be Best’ which is her very first of its kind ever since Donald’s presidential election in 2016.
Reportedly, the project is meant to focus on kids’ well-being in regards to things like opioid abuse as well as cyberbullying.
During the campaign’s announcement ceremony, the First Lady stated: ‘As a mother and first lady, it concerns me that in today’s fast-paced and ever-connected world, children can be less prepared to express or manage their emotions, and often turn to forms of destructive or addictive behavior such as bullying, drug addiction or even suicide.’
But Melania’s project was unfortunately for her met with a lot of criticism due to the title choice.
While some argued that she copied former first lady Michelle Obama’s famous words, ‘Be Better,’ others were simply annoyed by the bad grammar of the campaign title.
We hope the FLOTUS gets better soon!
