This past week reports surfaced that Jenni Pulos had left the Bravo reality show Flipping Out after ten seasons, and had also stopped working for Jeff Lewis’ company, Jeff Lewis Design. However, Lewis has revealed on his SiriusXM show Jeff Lewis Live that the two had been faking their working relationship for years.
Lewis got emotional during a recent episode of his radio show when he confirmed that he and Pulos had parted ways both personally and professionally, but then he made a stunning confession.
“I have always claimed that Flipping Out is a true authentic un-produced show. It is. However, Jenni has not worked for me — she has not been working for me for several, several seasons,” Lewis said. “And I apologize because it is the one inauthentic thing about the show.”
The famous house-flipper explained that he wanted to be honest with his listeners and viewers, and he also wanted to apologize for not being truthful. Lewis also said that Bravo employs Pulos, and during the past few seasons she has only shown up on the day of filming and then leaves as soon as filming is over. He then made it clear that Pulos does not work for him and she is not on his payroll.
As People Magazine reports, for ten seasons, Flipping Out has followed Lewis and his employees as they flipped homes and also while they worked as design consultants. But, the success of the show was the result of the relationship between the obsessive-compulsive Lewis and Pulos, his project manager who somehow managed to put up with him. Pulos has had an integral role in the show ever since it debuted in 2007, and she has also served as an executive producer for the series.
Lewis says that they decided to continue to portray Pulos as an employee because they feared that if Pulos left, people would stop watching. He said that the dynamic between Pulos and Lewis was so important, that not having that any more could mean that Bravo will end up canceling the show.

He also explained that the two parted ways professionally after he realized she “had other objectives,” and growing his business wasn’t her top priority. Lewis said that Pulos felt she had given up her acting career to work for his company, and that hurt his feelings because he thought he did everything he could to accommodate her auditions and meetings. In the end, they both thought it was best for her to leave the business.
Bravo cameras captured the moment that Jeff Lewis and Jenni Pulos officially parted ways for good, and they will feature it during Season 11.
New episodes of Flipping Out air Tuesday nights on Bravo.
