According to multiple reports circulating in the press, the rapper/singer, Fetty Wap, struck a deal with state prosecutors to avoid jail time. Police arrested Fetty last November following his detainment for driving under the influence of alcohol among other charges.
On Thursday, March 1st, the 26-year-old rapper pled guilty to misdemeanor charges including reckless endangerment in Brooklyn’s Criminal Court; he also agreed to take a driving program and lose his license for ninety days.
In a report from the New York Post’s Page Six, the publication claims the “Trap Queen” crooner has to pay a fine of $500, pocket change for a man such as Fetty Wap.
Luckily for the “Save Dat Money” collaborator, Fetty was able to have several charges dropped including ones which may have led him to face jail time of nearly seven years.
The prosecutors dropped the charges in exchange for taking a plea bargain. For further background, back in November of 2017, Fetty was charged with reckless endangerment when he was racing another vehicle on the Gowanus Expressway in Brooklyn.
A spokesperson speaking for the New York Police Department revealed the news. The official stated Fetty was “driving recklessly at a high rate of speed” and caused a dangerous condition.
The representative for the department continued by stating he was charged with an aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, reckless endangerment, illegal speed, DWI, and reckless driving.
This isn’t the first time Fetty has been in trouble, as the singer found himself involved in a shootout in New Jersey in March of 2017 which left three people with injuries.
According to the police, an argument broke out in a deli which led to gunshots being fired. However, another person was arrested for the crime later on.
