It is a great tragedy for the family of the third American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino. Fantasia’s nephew became the victim of a shooting in North Carolina.
According to information from the Greensboro Police Department, Tyquan Vonricco Washington, 18, was found bleeding from multiple gunshots around noon.
Despite the struggles of the medical team, the teenager could not be saved, and his death was announced at the Moses Cone Hospital.
A possible reason for the incident could be a quarrel between the deceased and David Lee White Jr., 21.
David Lee White is currently the main suspect behind Tyquan’s death and was detained shortly after the body was found.
He was being held in the Guilford County Jail and was slapped with first-degree murder charges.
A heartbroken Fantasia shared a memorable post in honor of her nephew on her Instagram page.
She wrote: “Rest In Peace Baby Boy #YoungHefe Seeing all those young people give their lives to Christ today was everything. Auntie Will Miss You!! I will make sure not to get so caught up in my work and be there for your Brothers and Sisters. I Have Some Dope Nieces and Nephews PROMISE!!!”
One fan told the singer: “May our God continue to keep you and your family at a time Such as this. When the last word is spoken, and the lights go out Jesus is still there lean on him we were not meant to carry these burdens Alone.”
Tyquan’s father, Ricco Barrino, also posted a touching message about his oldest son and the beautiful memories they shared while he was growing up.
Ricco Barrino, whose real name is Kassim Vonricco Washington, works as a recording artist.
He admitted to knowing that his son had gotten into some problems in the past but thought his child was trying to change.
Tyquan apparently even considered becoming a musician, an inspiration he most likely got from his father.
Tyquan attended the Andrew High School in High Point but did not finish it.
Instead, he set his hopes on enrolling in a community college to complete his education.
