‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile’ Lands Perfect Cast With Zac Efron As Ted Bundy And Lily Collins As Serial Killer’s Girlfriend

True crime fans will be pleased to know that the upcoming movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile has landed the perfect cast. Zac Efron will play serial killer Ted Bundy and Lily Collins will portray Elizabeth Kloepfer, Bundy’s girlfriend who had a difficult time reconciling the fact she was in love with a monster.
Kloepfer was Bundy’s girlfriend and the couple had an on-again, off again relationship for approximately seven years. She was instrumental in helping authorities capture him and wrote the book The Phantom Prince: My Life With Ted Bundy under the name Elizabeth Kendall.
For years, many have tossed around the name Rob Lowe to play Ted Bundy, remarking that they both have a similar appearance. Lowe did make the foray into true crime when he portrayed Drew Peterson in Lifetime’s Drew Peterson: Untouchable, a 2012 TV role that he earned critical praise for.
Lowe later played prosecutor Jeff Ashton in another true crime Lifetime movie Prosecuting Casey Anthony that was released in 2013. Social media went wild for Lowe’s true crime portrayals and people hoped he’d take on Ted Bundy next.

For those who hoped they’d see Lowe play Ted Bundy, the disappointment might be lessened as many feel that Zac Efron resembles a younger version of the Brat Pack actor.
Fans have long linked Zac Efron and Rob Lowe together for years.

There’s no question that COTA Films did an excellent job casting Zac Efron as Ted Bundy and as the movie moves past pre-production stage, we’re expecting there will be plenty of media hype.
If your initial thought was Zac Efron is too sweet to play a serial killer, you might be surprised to know he’s not the only one making the leap from wholesome, high school teenybopper to the mind of a monstrous madman.
Ross Lynch, who starred in Disney’s Austin & Ally is getting rave reviews for his take on cannibalistic serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer.
You may see the trailer for My Friend Dahmer in the video player below.
Both My Friend Dahmer and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile share the stories of high-profile serial killers Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy through the lens of their close friends.
The roles could be career-altering parts for both Ross Lynch and Zach Efron as they tackle the challenges or bringing evil to the screen and shedding their All-American, good boy images behind.

The true number of Theodore Robert Bundy’s “Ted Bundy’s” victims will never be known for sure, but it is estimated he killed more than 30 women across multiple states between the years 1961 and 1978.
The state of Florida put him to death in the electric chair “Old Sparky” on January 24, 1989, he was 42-years-old.
Bundy was intelligent and in the lates 60s had attended several colleges while figuring out his educational strategy. By 1967 he was enrolled at the University of Washington and began a romantic relationship with a woman known by the pseudonym Stephanie Brooks.
Their relationship ended and many experts familiar with Bundy’s case believe the breakup was a triggering point in his pathology.
Many of Bundy’s victims bore a striking resemblance to Brooks, however, it is believed he had committed murders before their relationship began.
In 1969, while still attending the University of Washington he met and began a romantic relationship with Elizabeth Kloepfer.
Though they would have a volatile relationship and Elizabeth would contact the police multiple times to tell them her boyfriend fit the suspect profile they were looking for, they maintained a relationship until 1976.
While many who knew Ted Bundy personally described him as charming and charismatic, there was another side to him revealed to his victims.
Bundy, a narcissist, represented himself during his court trial and there is archival footage online. One clip that is going viral shows Ted Bundy becoming angry at the judge and court proceedings.
Many have remarked that his personality changes and his face takes on an “evil” countenance. You may see that video below.
Ted Bundy has been referred to as “American’s Most Notorious Serial Killer.”
