Get ready to become her fan! This weekend, Bravo is set to air a new Southern Charm installment, titled Southern Charm: New Orleans, and before the premiere on Sunday, we have learned more about the network’s breakout star – Reagan Charleston!
Reagan talked about her native New Orleans and said it ‘is bold and it is vibrant, the people are the most interesting ones I think you will find, not just in the South, but in the country. Our food’s unique to New Orleans, our music’s unique to New Orleans, our culture’s literally unmatched, and I believe that my group of friends [embody] all those fun things people come from all over the world to witness in the city.’
The new star’s family is filled with artists as they have art galleries in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Both her grandparents as well as her mother were copper sculpture artists, and she grew up surrounded by creative people.
‘I got to see, firsthand, unique and diverse people that make up the art scene in New Orleans. That was something I didn’t appreciate until I was an adult. It was work. When you grow up in a family business, whether it’s art or law or other, it is work at the end of the day and, as a child, I did not realize how cool it was that my babysitters were sculptors from around the world, who were coming in to shadow my grandparents.’
Fun fact, one of her ancestors invented Louisiana’s state drink, the Sazerac.
‘Knowing that there’s a good reason I enjoy a good cocktail I think is fun, and makes me feel a little better, I guess?’ she joked.
Her family history is just as complex as a cocktail as she has roots in Spain, France and even the islands, which means she is the perfect mix of what she likes to refer to as the ‘creole culture.’
Reagan is a jewelry designer and soon to be lawyer, and she explained how this unlikely combination actually works!
‘I wear many hats. I am in my third year of law school. I am graduating, I walk in May. I’ve loved law school, every second of it. I am also a jewelry designer, I am an artist. So, those things are, you think, polar opposites. But I think I have excelled in school because I have learned how to utilize that creative side of my brain that I have used for so many years with my jewelry business.’
The woman describes herself as ‘unabashedly honest’ so we can definitely look forward to that on the show.
She has been married to ex-NFL star Jeff Charleston since 2012.
Don’t miss out on the premiere on Bravo this Sunday, April 15 at 9 P.M.!
