Some major casting shakeups may be in the works for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Two of the show’s regular stars, Erika Girardi and Dorit Kemsley, are reportedly demanding higher salaries for the upcoming season and are ready to leave if it doesn’t happen.
It’s only been a few weeks since Season 8 of RHOBH wrapped and the cast members are already entering contract negotiations for the next season. Girardi has been on RHOBH for three seasons and has quickly become a fan favorite.
Kemsley, meanwhile, has a knack for creating drama and feuded with just about everyone last season, including Teddi Mellencamp and Kyle Richards.
Both women have become an important part of the show and are using their influence to get a salary bump. According to OK Magazine, Girardi and Kemsley told producers that they will walk if their salary demands aren’t met. “They’re telling Bravo to pay them more or they’ll walk,” the source explained. “It’s a gamble, but they’re certain they’ll get what they want.”
We don’t know if Bravo will agree to the terms and keep Girardi and Kemsley on board next season. If they don’t, then fans will certainly be disappointed to watch them go, not to mention that a lot of the drama will leave with them.
The co-stars have reportedly joined forces in their demands, which should increase the likelihood that Bravo caves and gives them the money they deserve. If not, next season could feature a lot of new faces.
If Girardi is included next season, then she’ll still have to answer for what happened during the explosive Season 8 reunion. As fans will recall, Girardi and Mellencamp got into a huge fight during the reunion that ended with Girardi telling her co-star to stand up or “get the f**k out.”
Kyle Richards confessed that she thought Girardi crossed the line and took things a little too far during the reunion. She also believes that Girardi wasn’t herself during the reunion, though she isn’t sure what was going on in her personal life.
Erika Jayne Girardi and Dorit Kemsley have not commented on the rumors surrounding the new season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
