Eriq La Salle commemorated the death of his former ER co-star, Vanessa Marquez, who passed away on Thursday afternoon after the police shot and killed her in South Pasadena, California. She was 49-years-old.
The 56-year-old tweeted on Friday, “we tragically lost a member of our ER family yesterday.” According to Eriq, Vanessa portrayed a nurse when the show first began.
La Salle, or Dr. Peter Benton in the legendary medical-drama, stated: “may she rest in eternal peace.” As it was previously reported, the LA County Sheriff’s Department confirmed a 49-year-old woman died, however, they didn’t reveal her name.
People Magazine, the LA Times, The Hollywood Reporter, and the South Pasadenan, however, allege it was her. In October of last year, Marquez claimed in a Facebook post that La Salle grabbed her genitals.
We tragically lost a member of our ER family yesterday. Vanessa Marquez played a nurse when the show first aired. Sending out condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.

La Salle never addressed the allegations. Additionally, people on the set allegedly attacked her repeatedly “on her Mexican heritage,” and also – the actress remarked -George Clooney supposedly played a role in her “blacklisting.”
According to Vanessa, when she finally spoke out about being sexually harassed on ER, George helped to get her fired. Marquez said, “women who won’t play the game lose their career, I did.”
In a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter at the time, Mr. Clooney said that at no point did he ever play a role in casting. He was neither an actor, a producer, a director, or a casting director, he was “only an actor.”
Clooney said, “I take her at her word,” but if someone told her he played a role in her firing and blacklisting from Hollywood, then “she was lied to.” Additionally, the actor explained, not only was it impossible for him to ruin her career, he wouldn’t either even if he had the chance.
Supposedly, the police went to her residence after her landlord called the police and said she was “possibly suffering from a medical condition.” After the police spoke with her for one hour thirty minutes, she allegedly began waving a “BB-style” gun, and the authorities shot her.
