We hear that Drake could have taken his rivalry with Pusha T to another level and that would not have been the best for Kanye West! Producer J. Prince made an appearance on Sway in the Morning, and that is where he stated that he contacted Drake to personally ask him not to drop a diss track responding to Pusha T’s The Story of Adidon.
Apparently, the reason for this was that the said diss response would’ve gone way beyond the music industry rivalry and actually affected the ‘livelihood’ of not only Pusha but also Kanye’s.
‘After speaking with Kanye, I talked with the brother, and he did not want this. I saw this going to a place I feel would’ve ended his career if Drake would have put out this song that he had on him. And definitely would have hurt families, and we are not in it for that. That is not Drake’s character to tear a man down to that extent,’ the producer explained.
As fans probably know by now, Pusha’s diss track alleged that Drake has a secret love child.
While the rap song has created a lot of speculations and controversy around Drake, his response would have supposedly ruined Kanye and Pusha’s careers and personal lives.
‘The ingredients were overwhelming. I know for a fact that it would’ve been bad for Kanye and my man. It just would not be good. It is beyond music at that point. It is going to affect the livelihood. It is going to interfere with his whole lifestyle from that moment.’
But what if Drake decides to leak his diss track anyway?
Prince stated that he wouldn’t ‘because he gave his word. And me knowing Drake like I know him, he has a word.’
