Take note, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B; this is how it is done. Drake in a matter of days has made peace with both Chris Brown and Meek Mill.
And the latest reports claimed that the sudden passing of Mac Miller had something to do with it.
A friend of the Canadian star said he was close to Mac and wanted to honor his kindness.
The person had this to say to Hollywood Life: “Drake was really cut up about Mac’s death. It hit him hard as Mac was one of the kindest, most genuine guys in the business, and his passing is just a senseless tragedy in addition to a great loss to the music industry.”
The pal went on to say: “Drake and Chris have been making overtures toward ending their beef for a while now, and Drake thought a great way to honor Mac’s memory would be to put aside past feuding and strive to make amends for petty behavior and build bridges, try to be a better person. It’s basically what Mac was all about. Drake’s hoping that he and Chris can actually get into the studio together at some point in the future and lay down some tracks together, but it’s baby steps, so right now they’re just making peace.”
Drake and Chris started following each other on social media again. Last night, Drake brought Meek on stage and later shared a picture where they are hugging and revealed: “This really gave me peace of mind tonight. Healing and moving forward created one of the most exciting and gratifying moments of my career. @meekmill I’m happy that you are home and that we could find our way back to our joint purpose (Cue the Kevin Garnett “anything is possible” adlib).”
Fans are loving this unity. One person said: “First Chris Brown and now Meek Mills!! I just love the growth of maturity from these men.it’s nicki who seems to be poisonous and vicious as she knows how to bring out the worse in ppl smh.”
Another commenter stated: “Good for them, but Drake won that battle. Real hip hop heads rarely listen to these dudes music. There is so much better hip-hop from the golden age to now. They’ve been with how many women before and after Rih. I doubt their entire lives still revolve around her. She’s good. I’m sure they’re good too.”
This third supporter explained: “Soooo what’s going on here….. first meek, now Chris… I am not against the unity, but I’m trying to figure out what’s brewingDrake, Meek, and CB on a track…I need a full 98 track album!!! Now!!”
Many are begging Nicki and Cardi to do the same.
