All young members of the hip-hop community with a future ahead of them!
Drake is especially devastated by the death of Smoke, who he was pretty close with after he opened for Drake during his Boy Meets World tour last year.
‘Drake is taking the death of Smoke Dawg very hard. All these young kids dying for no reason like XXXTencacion and Jimmy Wopo hurts but Smoke’s death is hitting close to home,’ one insider exclusively told HollywoodLife.
The insider went on to explain that ‘Smoke was his boy, he brought him on the tour last year, it is a huge loss. Drake makes it his very mission to watch over Canadian talent and so this was even more painful. It happened on a street Drake knows quite well, it could’ve been him or one of his family members. It is hitting Drake extra hard now that he also has a son. Becoming a father has even put a brand new perspective on pretty much everything. He has a lot more respect for life now.’
Drake previously paid tribute to Smoke on social media writing ‘All these gifts, blessed souls and inner lights being extinguished lately is just devastating. I wish peace would wash over our city.’
‘So much talent and so many stories we never get to see play out. Rest up Smoke.’
