A new report claims that there could be some trouble brewing for Kim Zolciak and her Real Housewives of Atlanta spin-off Don’t Be Tardy. Bravo execs are reportedly worried about the future of the show, and Zolciak is going to need to bring the drama if she wants to keep her $1.5 million salary.
During the upcoming season, the drama will hit a high mark between Zolciak and her daughter, Brielle Biermann. But other than that, there isn’t much going on.
“Kim should either have another baby, or Brielle needs to get pregnant because nothing is going on there,” says an insider.

Don’t Be Tardy stars Zolciak and her husband, former NFL player Kroy Biermann, plus their six children. According to Radar Online, the ratings last season never got above one million viewers, but the expectation is that they will do better in Season 7 because of the drama between Zolciak and her daughter. However, the source says that the long-term doesn’t look good, and the show only has a few seasons left.
Bravo gave both Zolciak and Brielle raises for the upcoming season, but the insider says the show is far less expensive than RHOA. And, right now Don’t Be Tardy is so cheap to produce that it makes sense for the network to continue it.
The family just finished filming Season 7, and Bravo paid Zolciak $125,000 per episode, adding up to about $1.5 million for the season. Her daughter Brielle also got a pay increase to $16,000 an episode, which meant she made $192,000 for shooting all of the new episodes.
The mother-daughter duo did negotiate the raises as a condition for them returning for another season.
Kroy also became an executive producer alongside his wife, and that was a part of his renegotiation after retiring from football.
Don’t Be Tardy began after Zolciak met and married the Atlanta Falcons defensive end back in 2011. The spin-off started its run by showing fans the drama that took place in the two months leading up to their wedding as celebrity event planner Colin Cowie assisted the couple.
Then, fans followed Zolciak and Biermann as they started their new life with two new baby boys, and then two more twins in the next season.
We don’t yet know if Don’t Be Tardy will return for season number eight, but Season 7 of the show will air on Bravo later this year.
