If the reports are true, Donald Trump committed a terrible error: he spelled the name of his wife wrong. Just a couple of hours after Melania got out of the hospital, the president updated his Twitter following on her condition, but everyone caught wind of the spelling mistake which he quickly corrected.
The president tweeted that it was “great to have our incredible First Lady back home in the White House.” But he went on to spell her name as “Melanie,” instead of, “Melania,” in an error that was, undoubtedly, because of auto-correct.
Even though he managed to fix it rather quickly, the Twittersphere blew up in laughter and outrage, with some people poking fun at the president.
Twitter users jabbed the chief-in-command with references to Stormy Daniels, the royal wedding, as well as his administration which has been fraught with problems including resignation after resignation.
Perhaps, most recently, is the Stormy Daniels affair. The president’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, supposedly paid off Daniels a large sum of money so she wouldn’t reveal their sexual history before his 2016 campaign. Since the reports first came out, many politicians have called for Trump’s impeachment, but to no avail.
Wonderful. But do tell us more about this Melanie.

Today, Saturday, the White House announced that the 48-year-old, Melania, continued her recovery after getting surgery for what was described as a “benign kidney condition.” Fortunately, Melania didn’t need a serious operation, as the procedure was a standard one.
Trump didn’t go to the hospital along with her, but chose to, instead, get his daily intelligence briefing at 11 a.m. and had lunch with the vice president, Mike Pence. Trump tweeted before that his wife was “feeling great” after undergoing treatment.
According to Us Weekly, this marks the 16th time that Trump has tweeted with spelling mistakes. Sixteen isn’t too bad considering he’s been in office for almost two years.
