It turns out that someone unexpected might be to blame for Donald Trump becoming president of the United States! According to documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, Trump was so extremely upset that Gwen Stefani was paid more for The Voice than he was for The Apprentice, that he somehow decided running for office would be a good idea.
As crazy as that may sound, this is what Moore claims.
Apparently, Trump entering the political race was actually his way of negotiating to receive higher pay from NBC.
This shocking statement was made by Moore ahead of Fahrenheit 11/9’s premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
As you may know, the movie is about Trump’s presidential election!
The man explained that when Trump found out Gwen Stefani would get no less than $10 million to join the judging panel on the singing competition he was still negotiating with NBC on whether or not he’d still be part of The Apprentice’s season 15.
That being said, the filmmaker says he never intended to become the president, as all was just a stunt to get the network to pay him more.
‘You hadn’t heard that before, have you?’ Michael told THR.
‘He’d been talking about running for president since 1988, but he did not really want to be president. There is no penthouse in the White House. And he does not want to live in a black city. He was trying to pit NBC against another network, but it just went off the rails.’
Well, that’s an understatement! It looks like no one really got what they wanted in the end – not even the president!
