Are we even surprised the controversial president did a faux pas? After months of grumbling, Donald Trump has finally met Queen Elizabeth II.
Today, he and first lady Melania Trump visited Windsor Palace.
The presidential couple have been in Europe for the past few days meeting with some NATO leaders.
Finally, the Trumps arrived in England yesterday when they also went to dinner with Prime Minister Theresa May.
As you may be aware by now, their visit to Windsor Palace is not official state business but more of a casual encounter between the two heads of state.
Of course, saying ‘casual’ and Queen of England or just the Royal family for that matter, in the same sentence doesn’t really make sense as there is a lot of protocol to be followed.
While the huge Trump baby blimp was floating around the streets of London and people were protesting his visit, the president was receiving the royal treatment at Windsor as he was greeted with traditional pomp.
The Queen’s guards were marching while the American national anthem was playing.
The meeting was not without mistake, however. After Donald and Melania shook hands with the Queen, which she accepted smiling, Trump proceeded to wipe the smile off her face by committing a major faux pas!
As they were making their way inside the caste after listening to the national anthem, the president walked in front of the Queen!
And the rule is very clear – she needs to lead the way no matter what!

Social media was quick to react.
‘Cringing watching Trump inspecting the troops. Walking then stopping straight in front of the Queen causing her to go round him. Walk with her and go at her pace you ill mannered C***!Oh and Scotland doesn’t want u either #TrumpUKVisit,’ one tweet read.
Others were able to notice even more mistakes in etiquette.
‘When he met the Queen his pants were all wrinkled and he didn’t button his coat. Melania didn’t curtsey and Trump kept walking in front of the Queen. Their so damn ignorant.’
