The lines between celebrity and politics are blurred with Donald Trump as the future president of the United States. This week, the mogul explained that he is a very busy man, who has too many important things to do, which is why he skipped out on the daily intelligence briefings. Trump is so occupied that he has no time to utter a word about the situation in Aleppo where hundreds are being killed. Out of his extremely busy schedule, Trump found time for an extraordinary and lengthy meeting with controversial rapper Kanye West.
Tuesday, the star, who is now mainly known for his rants instead of his music, was pictured with a large entourage entering Trump Tower in New York.
The mega personalities sat in Trump’s office and talked for several minutes and emerged for a photo op. Like a red carpet event or movie premiere, Trump and West posed over and over as photographers from all over the world took pictures.
Reporters shouted many questions at West like, “what did you guys talk about?” Has Trump offered you a post in his administration? Many were also curious about Trump’s upcoming inauguration and asked if West was invited to perform.
Rumor has it, Trump’s team is unable to secure a performer for the event. It is not surprising because artists tend to be liberal and they are not fans of Trump’s rhetoric. For a man, who loves to talk, West kept it very vague and brief. He only said that they spoke about “life” and exited the skyscraper with the people he came in with.
The Internet went wild over the meeting, and West’s name has been trending for over 10 hours now. As stated above, the Chicago MC is a chatterbox, and he can never get enough of the spotlight, which is why he rushed to Twitter to give a detailed account of what took place.
He said: “I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues. These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculum, and violence in Chicago. I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.”
West also suggested he might run for president in 2024.
