Here is the full schedule for Donald Trump’s inauguration events, which will take place on Friday, January 20, 2017. While it has been a very non-conventional political season, which bore fruit to unusual events, some traditions dating hundreds of years will be respected during 2017 inauguration. Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, have been forced to leave the ritzy Trump Tower to sleep at Blair House, which is known as the president’s guest house. Early Friday morning, also known as Inauguration Day, the Trump couple will meet with President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
The two men will talk over breakfast before heading for an exceptional service at St. John’s Church.
9:30 am EST – Inauguration Day Performances
Artists performing at the inauguration will take the stage at the Capitol Building. An extensive list of artists have declined to belt out a tune, but America’s Got Talent singing sensation Jackie Evancho accepted to sing for the 45th president. It has also been confirmed that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Tony Orlando, and the Rockettes will perform on Friday.
11:30 am EST – Inaugural Swearing-in Ceremony
On the West Front of the Capitol, Trump will be sworn in as president by Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. whom he blasted numerous times in the past. Minutes later, Mike Pence will be sworn in as vice president by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
3 pm EST — Inaugural Parade, Pennsylvania Avenue
Trump and Pence will take part in the parade, which will go on Pennsylvania Avenue.
7 pm EST — Inaugural Balls
There will be three balls – two of which will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The final ball dubbed the Salute to Our Armed Services Ball will take place at the National Building Museum.
Mr. and Mrs. Trump will dance in all three.
