The bromance between Barack Obama and Joe Biden simply can not compete with the tight bond that links Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin. Late Saturday evening, news broke Across The Pond that Mr. Trump’s first foreign trip as president of the United States will be to Reykjavík, Iceland to discuss political matters with Mr. Putin. Is anyone surprised by this development? The intelligence community and half of the planet seem to agree that Russia meddled in the 2016 race and it benefited Trump.
Via the drips from Wikileaks, the hacking of the DNC, and the spread of faux news on social media, Putin put all in place to destroy Hillary Clinton’s chances of becoming president. Despite the impressive evidence pointing to Putin playing a direct role in the hacking, the billionaire has chosen to deny all of the facts.
In fact just hours ago, the incoming president tweeted the following shocking message that shows that he lives in his own reality: “INTELLIGENCE INSIDERS NOW CLAIM THE TRUMP DOSSIER IS “A COMPLETE FRAUD!”
Many political experts see the trip as a nod to former President Ronald Reagan’s trip to Iceland’s capital in October 1986. Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, the then-General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, met for about two days and their discussions led to the most significant nuclear and conventional missiles related treaty in history.
According to The Sunday Times, the controversial leaders, who have a habit of praising each other, will tackle various topics during their first official face-to-face.
On the table, will be the handling of ISIS, Syria, and how the sanctions put in place against Russia by Obama could be lifted. Incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer said the story is not true – translation – no one knows what Trump will do until he actually does it.
Officials in Iceland have refused to comment on the report. Even if the men do not have their sit-down in Europe, it will take place in Washington. During a press conference in December, Putin said he was coming to America to meet with Trump.
