One of the hosts of CNN, Don Lemon, took serious criticism from social media users over the last two days following his comments on Kanye West and his mother. Don said on air recently that his mother would be ashamed of him for the remarks he has made, and she’s likely “rolling in her grave.”
“Kanye’s mother is rolling over in her grave,” the host remarked, and the social media response was vociferous. Regardless of Kanye’s political positions and affiliations, most people online accused Don of inappropriately bringing the deceased into the controversy.
As fans of the Ye rapper know, his mother passed away in 2007 after a failed cosmetic surgery, a point of contention for the Yeezy creator. Additionally, Don accused Kanye of being mentally unstable, and Trump of exploiting the rapper’s alleged mental illness.
One Fox News reporter, Brian Flood, said in a tweet that he doesn’t understand what CNN is doing. Geraldo Rivera and James Woods made similar remarks.

Additionally, Lemon created more problems for himself earlier in the week when his panel, including Bakari Sellers and Tara Setmarery, said Kanye was a “token n*gro.”
His co-hosts made more comments about Kanye’s supposed mental illness, arguing that the rapper has turned in a “very strange way.” While many people in the Hollywood and entertainment establishment have criticized Kanye, some online have suggested that he’s a free man to say what he wants.
This all comes after Donald and Kanye met up in the Oval Office on Thursday and the rapper gave a long speech about a number of different topics, including industry, American jobs, Adidas, and his family.
It was less than a week after his controversial appearence on Saturday Night Live, where Kanye spoke about Americans’ need for a dialogue, rather than a diatribe.
