Alyson Stoner wanted to be as honest with her fans as possible, and so she couldn’t hide this from them. The Disney actress has come out in an essay she wrote for Vogue.
In the powerful and inspiring letter, Alyson revealed she was once in love with another woman.
In fact, according to her, Alyson’s very first love was a female instructor at a dance workshop she attended at the time.
The former ‘Suite Life of Zack and Cody’ actress remembers even today being ‘mesmerized and intimidated’ by the talented dancer immediately.
Alyson has been out to her family and some of her colleagues, but this was the first time she told her fans about her sexuality.
On Friday, she shared a few details about the essay on her Instagram.
Apparently, being open about who she is has helped her be more compassionate and ‘awake.’
‘After I dizzied myself from doing knee spins, she walked toward me to correct my form. My heart raced uncontrollably and my body grew hot. Was I nervous about failing in front of an expert? Was I breathing heavily from being out of shape? Her smile was the most electrifying thing I had ever seen,’ Alyson recalled about her first love.
‘I realized I’d never fantasized about a guy this way, nor really ever felt comfortable dating guys,’ she went on but later added that she is still attracted to both women and men, which makes her bisexual.
Are you surprised by the Disney star’s confession? Do you think her essay will help other young LGBT people accept themselves and relate?
