Former Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel is facing charges of assault and battery after his arrest last month, but his co-star Landon Clements is having a hard time believing that Ravenel could hurt someone.
“I know in my heart that Thomas is a good person and whatever happened, happened. I wasn’t there that night,” Clements recently told Us Weekly. “But I can’t imagine that he would ever hurt anyone.”
While attending the sixth annual UNICEF masquerade ball in Los Angeles, the 36-year-old said she couldn’t comment anymore about the matter because it was an ongoing case, but she supposes the court will take care of it.

Back in May, two different women accused Ravenel of sexual assault, and, on September 25th, police arrested him for assault and battery in the second degree based off a warrant from January 2015 where Ravenel’s former nanny had accused him of sexually assaulting her.
According to court documents, Nanny Dawn accused Ravenel of undressing her and making sexual advances. She also said that Ravenel grabbed her hand and placed it on his penis, and while attempting to remove her clothing, he cut her skin with her underwire bra and wrapped her shirt around her neck.
Then, Ravenel allegedly pulled the nanny’s pants down and said vulgar things to her while trying to grab her vagina.
At the time of the allegations in May, Ravenel’s lawyer, the late Richard P. Terbrusch, denied the accusations. Sadly, Terbrusch died in a plane crash in early October.
Clements doesn’t keep in touch with Ravenel, but she does stay in contact with the Southern Charm cast. She says that she mostly talks to Shep Rose because they have been friends for so long, and he is like a brother to her.
She is also “super close” with Whitney Sudler-Smith, but it is a very tangled web because she originally met him through her ex-husband. And, even though they don’t talk on a regular basis, she still loves him.
Ravenel’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 5th, and a judge will determine if the case will be sent to trial. Nanny Dawn says that she believes Ravenel should go to jail for his crimes, but the statistics say that he will probably go unpunished.
She says that the only justice she will get is to share her story in an effort to educate people and support other assault survivors.
Season 6 of Southern Charm – the first without Thomas Ravenel – will return to Bravo in 2019.
