Jill Duggar is in hot water once again. The disgraced Counting On star stole cooking recipes from various websites and placed them on her blog without giving proper credit. Fans caught Jill redhanded and, needless to say, are not happy about the situation.
According to In Touch Weekly, Jill’s plagiarism scandal began when she shared some zucchini recipes on her blog. The former Counting On star told fans that she created the recipe after experimenting with different ways to cook zucchini and that it is now one of her husband’s favorite dishes.
This wouldn’t be a problem if Jill hadn’t copied the recipe verbatim from a different website. The reality star also stole the site’s photo and only gave credit after fans called her out.
The zucchini dish wasn’t the only one Jill stole. She also used a recipe for Slow Chicken Mole and Riguas from different websites without offering a single credit line.
Even worse, she pretty much copied the recipes word-for-word and tried to act as though she created them. Luckily, fans quickly noticed the plagiarism and put Jill on blast for stealing other people’s work.
“In this day and age of internet fraud, credit fraud, you’d think because they claim themselves to be moral, ethical & adherent followers in their faith, which they believe to be the most moral & truthful way to live and be in this life, they would not care enough to provide the simple links to the owners website,” one fan wrote on social media.
Jill’s latest misstep comes a few months after TLC decided to fire her husband, Derick Dillard, from Counting On. Dillard received a lot of backlash after making several negative comments towards the LGBTQ community on social media, though he and Jill tried to play it off as though they decided to leave the 19 Kids and Counting spin-off.
Over the past few months, the couple has been more active on their blog and social media as they move further away from their family.
A few weeks ago, Jill told fans that she was going to start sharing more recipes on her blog, many of which she claims to have discovered in her mother, Michelle Duggar’s, collection.
Counting On fans were initially excited about Jill’s project, though the plagiarism scandal will probably put an end to it.
For those that might be wondering if Jill is simply unaware about plagiarism, she has warnings on her blog about copying content without permission. After the backlash, Jill went back through and credited the photos and recipes, though some fans are still unhappy with the situation.
While Jill battles her latest scandal, fans are also wondering if she’s expecting her third child with Dillard. Some fans believe they spotted a small baby bump in Jill’s Easter Sunday photo she shared on Instagram, though she and Dillard have not said anything about expanding the family.
As far as the recipe scandal is concerned, Jill Duggar has not commented on the backlash.
Jill’s family returns with new episodes of Counting On this summer on TLC.
