When producers of the Real Housewives of Atlanta fired Kenya Moore this summer, insiders say that it was a warning to the rest of the cast — you must share everything with the Bravo cameras — or you will have to turn in your peach. Last year, Moore married restaurateur Marc Daly in a secret ceremony on the island of St. Lucia without a camera crew. And then during the most recent season of RHOA, Daly was basically non-existent.
According to Radar Online, the network and the show’s producers didn’t appreciate the secrecy, and they chose not to renew Moore’s contract.
NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, and Eva Marcille do have contracts for this season, and they are glad to be together and filming new episodes of the highest-rated series in the Housewives’ franchise.
“They were all told they have to share everything on the show. They are under contract to share their whole story. Not bits and pieces,” says an insider.
Just five people showed up to NBC’s New York City headquarters recently to protest Moore’s firing. The protesters yelled “Boycott Bravo!” and “Kenya Moore, Team Twirl!” But, there is no hope that the former beauty queen will be coming back to the show.
Moore announced during last season’s reunion show that she and Daly were expecting their first child. Some thought it was just a stunt to try to save her spot on the series, but she has made an attempt on social media to prove that she really is pregnant with baby bump and sonogram pics.
#BabyDaly is growing! I'm feeling much better now and baby is giving me amazing skin and I'm not having crazy cravings. Actually, I'm eating less bc baby is moving up. So far all the tests and ultrasounds say baby is healthy! Thank God. Please continue to pray for our family! #miraclebaby #weloveyou #itsnevertoolate #GodsSpeed #ThatsMrsDalyToYou #babybump #ThankYouJehovah #IVF
The 47-year-old vaguely told reunion host Andy Cohen that she and Daly would welcome a child by the end of the year. When her Twitter followers started asking her if she was actually pregnant or if she was using a surrogate, Moore replied that she was not using a surrogate with her first baby, but might consider it for baby number two.
During her time on RHOA, Moore made no secret of the fact that she wanted to be a mother. She openly discussed her desire to have a baby on multiple occasions.
Kenya Moore claims she is currently working on a new show that will give fans the opportunity to follow her life as a new mom, and she says that Daly will also make appearances even though he doesn’t appear to be very comfortable in front of the camera.
Season 11 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta will premiere in November on Bravo.
