Designer Donna Karan went so far as to blame women for being victims of sexual assault. According to her, when they wear clothes that are too revealing they are asking for it!
During a recent interview, the 69-year-old decided to stand up for her close friend Harvey Weinstein who is currently at the center of a huge sexual misconduct scandal.
The designer suggested that it might have been the victims’ faults for triggering the man’s nasty behavior.
‘You look at everything all over the world today and how women are dressing and what they’re asking by presenting themselves the way they do. What are they asking for? Trouble. I believe we’ve to look at ourselves. Obviously, the treatment of women all over the world’s something that’s always had to be identified. To see it here in our own country is very difficult, but I also think how do we display ourselves? Are we asking for it by presenting all the sensuality and all the sexuality?’ Donna controversially said.
The woman went on to claim that she is close to Weinstein as well as with his wife and they are both ‘wonderful people.’
Finally, Donna suggested the drama in which Weinstein has been involved lately is not only on him but on the world we live in today.
According to reports, the disgraced producer allegedly paid settlements to about eight women or even more so that he could avoid getting punished for his actions.
After the news of his crimes came to light, he was even rightfully fired from his company!
Other close friends of Weinstein, such as Meryl Streep have not shied away from criticizing the man for his sexual misconduct.
Streep noted that the producer’s behavior is the perfect example of being despicable and abusing power in Hollywood.
What do you think about the outrageous support Donna is showing Weinstein?
