Demi Lovato’s Family Begging Her To Quit Music After Her Latest Stint In Rehab

After nearly losing her life due to a drug overdose, Demi Lovato’s family wants her to get out of Hollywood. Jamie De La Garza, Lovato’s heartbroken grandfather, says that his troubled granddaughter is in his prayers.
“I would like for Demi to quit the business and move back here before it’s too late. Hollywood is nothing but a horrible mess!” said the 82-year-old De La Garza at his home in Irving, Texas.
He added that the news of Lovato’s overdose was devastating, but he didn’t find out about it until he read about it in a magazine. De La Garza explained that when his family calls him, they always tell him that “Demi is doing fine,” so the media is the only way he can keep up with what is going on.
After six years of sobriety, the Sober singer overdosed at her home in Los Angeles after smoking oxycodone laced with fentanyl. This was the same drug that killed Prince and Tom Petty. On the morning of July 24th, Lovato was found unconscious and had to be revived with Narcan.
Lovato spent two weeks in the hospital before checking into a rehab facility, and De La Garza says that he hopes this is a wakeup call for his granddaughter. He also said that he is glad is his wife isn’t here to see what has happened to Lovato.
The singer celebrated her 26th birthday on August 20th, and her little sister, Madison De La Garza wished her a happy birthday in an emotional Instagram post. The 16-year-old wrote that it could have been one of the worst days of her life, but instead she was able to thank God, the doctors, Lovato’s team, and everyone who supported her big sister and kept her alive.
“I’ve been thinking about how I wish that everyone could see the silly little things that she does, like how her nostrils move when she says certain words and when she brushes my hair behind my ear when I’m trying to sleep, because those are the things I’m thankful for today,” De La Garza wrote.

Lovato’s sister also said that it is the little things that make up her sister, not the celebrity, and she is not how the media describes her. She is also a daughter, a friend, and her big sister. De La Garza concluded that she is thankful she can tell Lovato “happy birthday.”
The post received over 100,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments on the first day, with many people praising the message and sending Demi Lovato their own happy birthday wishes.
