It’s here! Demi Lovato’s long-awaited CD Tell Me You Love Me dropped and she already has three songs climbing the iTunes charts. Fans heard singles such as “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore,” “Sorry Not Sorry” “Sexy Dirty Love” and the title track “Tell Me You Love Me” for several months, but now everyone can hear the full album. While earlier fan speculation suggested Demi’s song “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore” was about her ex-boyfriend actor Wilmer Valderrama, a new tweet from Wilmer questions the theory.
Wilmer Valderrama posted to his official Twitter account and encouraged people to get Demi’s new album and called it a masterpiece.
Tell Me You Love Me is Demi’s sixth studio album and fans waited for its release with great anticipation. Demi has made several rounds on television talk shows and magazine interviews in promotion of the album.
New tracks recently released are already trending on various charts including the song “Ruin The Friendship.” Fans are now theorizing that “Ruin The Friendship” is about Nick Jonas.
Though it is common for fans to read into a musical artist’s lyrics to try and determine whom the song is about (Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” sparked conversation and debate about its subject for decades), but speculation across social media was rather solid that “You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore” was about Wilmer.
If it was, he either doesn’t know or simply doesn’t care.

Fan theories about songs are nothing new and musicians such as Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift can scarcely release a song without facing scrutiny as to whom the subject is.
There was additional speculation regarding Demi’s song “Sorry Not Sorry” and for a while, people also thought that song was about Wilmer Valderrama, but Demi later clarified it was about loving yourself when haters try to drag you down.
Singers who write their own music often pour their own autobiographical experiences and emotions into their lyrics. Therefore it’s understandable for people to try and determine whom a song is about.
What do you think? Do you think Tell Me You Love Me includes songs about Wilmer Valderrama or is it time to put the fan theories to rest and just enjoy the album?
