Following her terrifying drug overdose, Demi Lovato has checked into a rehab facility where she will reportedly remain for ‘several months!’ Apparently, the singer is willing to stay there as long as she needs to if that means winning the battle with addiction.
One insider tells E! Online that ‘She will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs.’
In order for her to get the proper help, Demi has chosen to cancel the rest of her tour dates, and her fans are glad she is focusing on her health.
The singer is really focusing on her sobriety, and that means staying away from any distractions.
As a result, the source went on to tell the outlet that she ‘hasn’t been in communication with anyone’ since checking in and that includes Wilmer Valderrama, her ex who was there for her during the almost two weeks she spent in the hospital.
‘Wilmer has been in touch with the family and has been checking in on Demi’s status,’ the insider explained, making it clear he and Demi have not talked directly to one another.
‘The family is trying to make sure they eliminate all distractions and want her to be focusing on her health right now. Demi’s doing so much better. She’s become more open and is really happy that she is getting the help she needs.’
While in the hospital, the star managed to ‘grasp the severity of what happened and the fact that she nearly died. She hopes to make a full recovery and to be able to do the one thing she loves: Music.’
