According to a police officer who spoke with TMZ.com, Demi Lovato, the “Sorry, Not Sorry,” singer, had to be rushed to the hospital after suffering an alleged heroin overdose.
The sources who spoke with the outlet claim that Demi was taken to the hospital from her home in the Hollywood Hills just before lunchtime on Tuesday, today.
Currently, she’s in the hospital receiving treatment. No one knows her precise condition at the moment. As fans of the singer know, Demi has been fighting with substance abuse for many years.
At one point, Lovato lived in a group home for addicts after she got out of a rehabilitation clinic. She had managed six years of sobriety from cocaine and oxycontin.
However, last month, Demi released a new song called, “Sober,” where the singer revealed that she had fallen off the wagon. According to multiple reports, she was supposed to hit the road this week, and currently has another concert scheduled in Atlantic City.
Sources say that Demi has been “struggling.” Fortunately, Lovato has managed to find an outlet for her problems, often speaking candidly with her fans and interviewers.
The singer once stated that she would talk with reporters about sobriety while high, and once struck one of her co-workers after he told people that she was abusing narcotics.
While some sources claim Demi is worried about what her followers think, most of her fans have been incredibly supportive, and hope for the best for her. One person wrote on Instagram, “Demi, don’t let the darkness bring you down. Eventually, if you persist, you’ll make it into the light.”
Lovato has also talked about the way she has handled stressful situations. During the Met Gala last year, the singer said that she had to leave because the energy, and other celebrities, were bringing her down. She rushed to an AA meeting with her jewels on and everything.
