Demi Lovato, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker and CeCe Winans covered the Beatles’ classic song “With a Little Help from My Friends” at the Hand In Hand, A Benefit for Hurricane Relief on September 12, 2017. Organized by rapper Bun B and manager Scooter Braun, there were three fundraisers held simultaneously each in Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville.
Lovato, Paisley, Rucker, and Winans performed live at the Nashville telethon and their performance was full of emotion. Hand In Hand, A Benefit for Hurricane Relief has brought in more than 44 million for victims of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma that devastated residents in Texas, Florida, and other states. Demi Lovato and CeCe Winans delivered lyrics with their powerhouse vocals, while Darius Rucker belted out his verses with his country twang and soulful gusto. Brad Paisley sang but delivered key guitar riffs and there’s no question The Beatles would have approved of their cover.
More than covering a classic and iconic song; however, the quartet’s cover emphasized the meaning of the night: people need the help of their friends and neighbors to make it through these devastating times.
The performance is trending on YouTube which is good news. Not only is the cover fantastic, but the more people who tune in and are touched by the performance, the more people who will decide to donate to Hurricane victims, whether it is financial, emotional, or physical support.
Many celebrities joined forces and lent their support for the benefit with each filling a different role. Some spoke while others manned the telephones. Others like Demi Lovato, Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley, and CeCe Winans performed live.
Fans have gone crazy for the performance and it is one of YouTube’s trending videos.
