Darci Lynne Farmer, the 12-year-old ventriloquist from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, won America’s Got Talent on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, with a little help from her friends Oscar and Petunia. Fans loved her routines that not only include ventriloquism but humorous sketches that often featured judges Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell. It was Darci’s vocal chops and singing skills that made her act stand out and ultimately win the title of America’s Got Talent Season 12 winner along with 1 million dollars and a Las Vegas show.
After the America’s Got Talent finale and news that Darci Lynne had been crowned the winner, NBC shared a video and began posting on social media how fans can see Darci Lynne perform her act in Vegas.
Darci Lynne will headline the Planet Hollywood Showroom at the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, located in Las Vegas. Darci Lynne’s show will run on November 3 and 4.
Darci Lynne was an early favorite and after her performance of “With a Little Help From My Friends” went viral on YouTube bringing in more than 3 million views the day before the results were read, it seemed she was going to win.
Still, you never know how America will vote and there is always room for a surprise ending. Tyra Banks did a fantastic job replacing Nick Cannon for Season 12 and though some were worried at the beginning of the new season that fans would have a difficult time adjusting they didn’t.
Social media praise for Tyra remained strong and fans haven’t mentioned Nick Cannon’s departure or stated the show had changed without his presence.
The judges’ panel has remained the same for the past several seasons, but this year Mel B brought a little more drama to the show than in previous seasons. As she is going through personal issues, it seems that might explain some of her reactions.
During the finale, Mel B caused a stir when she referred to the third place finalists Light Balance as “losers.” Howie Mandel quickly covered for her by announcing that an America, the word loser actually meant winners.
The finale saw 10-year-old Angelica Hale competing against 12-year-old Darci Lynne Farmer. It was a finale for the history books as America deemed two children the most talented acts of the season.
Both girls were overcome with emotion and Darci Lynne was in tears while Angelica was visibly shaken and pale.
It was a tough competition and everyone did a great job.
Kelly Clarkson may have given the best advice when she pointed out that everyone who made it to the finale made it along with each other. They are on television, their acts have been seen by not only America but managers and agents as well. To make it to the finale means everyone wins.
Did you watch the America’s Got Talent Season 12 finale? Do you agree with the results? Are you going to see Darci Lynne Farmer in Las Vegas?
