Danny Masterson has been fired from the Netflix series that he stars in and co-executive produced The Ranch. The firing comes as four women have accused Masterson of raping them. Masterson, 41, has denied the allegations and released a statement after he was fired. Masterson came to prominence playing the character Hyde in That ’70s Show. Some have suggested the Church of Scientology had a hand in protecting Masterson and delaying his firing. Others questioned why he was fired before being arrested and why an investigation was underway. Others questioned why it took so long for Netflix to cut ties with him.
Others have stated they feel there are too many sexual harassment allegations that are resulting in firings or causing a career to end without proof.
The counterpart is that others are saying because there is a current climate where women are automatically believed they are coming forward bravely, without fear.
While some discussed whether it is right to fire Masterson and others who have been accused without proof, others pointed out that companies can fire based on the allegations alone.
Apparently all u need is the accusation- innocent until proven guilty?? Not so much.

Netflix released a statement announcing they are writing Masterson out of the show, just one day after they confirmed that Robin Wright would head the Netflix series House of Cards after Kevin Spacey was fired.
The statement reads as follows.
“After discussing with the producers, we’ve decided to write Danny Masterson off of The Ranch. Yesterday was his last day of work, and we’ll make new episodes in 2018 without him.”

The second portion of The Ranch Season 2 returns to Netflix on December 15, 2017, and Danny Masterson will appear in those episodes. It’s also possible some of the scenes for Season 3 that have been previously filmed will air. It’s unclear exactly how Netflix plans to write him out of the series.

“I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of The Ranch. From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me. Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit. I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one.”Advertisement
Danny Masterson released the above statement. What do you think about the allegations? Do you agree with Masterson that he shouldn’t have been fired from The Ranch when the allegations are nearly 16-years-old and he hasn’t been charged or convicted of a crime?
