Dancing with the Stars will debut an all-athletes edition next season. While producers haven’t announced a full cast list for the hit dancing competition, they did tease a few dream picks for the all-athlete edition. Which former athletes would producers love to cast for the upcoming season?
According to Hollywood Life, producers areformer NFL star Colin Kaepernick and legendary NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. An inside source told the outlet that producers really want to cast some big sports star next season and that Kaepernick and Earnhardt are at the top of their lists.
Earnhardt retired from NASCAR this year and they have targeted him for the show in the past. Kaepernick, meanwhile, is well known for his activism in the NFL and would certainly bring a lot of drama to the show.

The source also revealed that the all-athlete season will only last four episodes. This is one reason why producers think they can get big names because they won’t have to commit to an entire season. Kaepernick and Earnhardt have not commented on the rumors, though there are a few other sports stars that may join next season.
Cinema Blend reports that formeris also being considered for Dancing with the Stars. Bryant’s ex-teammate, Derick Fisher, recently commented on the possibility of Bryant joining the competition and revealed that he is a huge fan of the show. Bryant apparently watches the series with his family and Fisher believes producers should reach out and ask if he wants to join the show.
Bryant retired from the NBA last year after 20 years under his belt. Bryant has busied himself with several different projects since his retirement, but he probably has enough free time to compete on DWTS.
Because Bryant is known for his ultra-competitive nature, it would be interesting to see him bring his best to the dance floor next season. Bryant has not confirmed or denied his interest in competing for the coveted mirror ball trophy.
ABC has not announced the official premiere date for Season 26 of Dancing with the Stars.
