Cynthia Nixon, formerly of Sex And The City, referred to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency as a “terrorist organization” for separating children from their parents at the US-Mexico border.
During a talk in New York City on Thursday, June 21st, Nixon – who’s running for Governor of New York – said that ICE is no longer serving its purpose. In fact, it’s doing precisely the opposite.
It’s supposed to keep Americans safe, however, according to Nixon, the organization has turned into a “terrorist” affiliation used for the sake of “terrorizing” people who are coming into the country illegally.
And on Twitter on Thursday, Nixon doubled-down on her comments and referred to Donald Trump as “egomaniacal.” During an appearence on The View, Nixon detailed her position on the child-migrant crisis.
Cynthia said this sort of thing has become commonplace in America. She claimed that throughout the United States currently, parents are being separated from their children. Nixon said we should “abolish ICE” because it is new, and was created after the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
Nixon stated, for the longest time, ICE has been used as a means of terrorizing those who want to come into the country, and its use is now outdated, and its dissolution would be much better for Americans.
Nixon is just one of many celebrities to speak out against Donald Trump’s administration following the separation of over 2,000 children from their parents.
After a wave of backlash, Trump signed an executive order to end the policy. And Melania Trump made headlines when she wore a Zara jacket that said, “I really don’t care, do you?” on the back of it.
At a later date, Trump said that Melania’s fashion choice was in condemnation of the “fake news media.” However, celebrities and other politicians weren’t willing to take that as a response.
