The romantic comedy has grabbed a lot of attention and so, people are already wondering if there is going to be a sequel! If so, what should fans of Crazy Rich Asians expect from it?
The cast of the film is answering that question.
At the premiere, the stars talked to ET revealing what exactly they would like to see in a sequel.
Michelle Yeoh made it very clear that she wants ‘a little bit of everything’ in there.
‘This really gave us an opportunity to bring you to our side of the world. This movie’s going to do so well,’ the film’s matriarch went on to tell the outlet.
And sure enough, Crazy Rich Asians is already doing great at the box office, making it probably the biggest romantic comedy this year.
That being said, creating a sequel is only a matter of time and the fact that the movie was inspired by a trilogy of novels makes us hopeful we’ll even get more than just two films.
The books written by Kevin Kwan also include China Rich Girlfriend and Rich People Problems.
Henry Golding mentioned that he’d like to see ‘more of Astrid’ on screen in the sequel.
Constance Wu agreed that ‘Her story’s fantastic.’
‘When I read the book, I was in awe of that character and Gemma plays her impeccably,’ Golding revealed.
‘I like in the third book they go into the history. It’s the amah when she was younger, and I think that’s so interesting,’ Wu also said.
Meanwhile, Director John M. Chu is totally ‘down’ to direct the next movie or movies. ‘I won’t let anyone else!’
