Country crooner and talented songwriter Cam gushed about her collab with Sam Smith on their song Palace! Check out what she had to say about the Grammy winner!
While in attendance at the 2018 Academy of Country Music Awards, the woman revealed: ‘I just got back from performing with Sam at the O2 in London.’
She went on to praise Sam and his supporters, saying: ‘Oh, my gosh, his fans are the sweetest and he is a treasure of our generation, so when he sings everyone shuts up. I was fortunate enough to write the song with him and sing it with him on stage.’
Cam also talked about how happy she was to learn Smith wanted the song and how the whole collaboration came to be in the first place.
‘Tyler Johnson, who is my producer and co-writer, was writing with him, showed him some of the music from my upcoming album that is going to come out later this year, and he was like, ‘I want to write with her,’ the 33-year-old recalled excitedly.
‘We actually wrote it together, and he has such a beautiful way of revealing himself in his lyrics, and I felt like we were also on the same page with Tyler Johnson, who wrote it with us. I was proud of it, and in love with it from the very second we wrote it, and he was as well, so it kind of felt like it was going to happen. I was not quite as surprised, just really honored,’ Cam dished.
But this is not the only memorable project the songstress has been involved in recently.
Cam is also set to appear on American Idol tomorrow as a mentor.
She gushed that the talent on the show was so ‘unreal’ that she ‘did not even know what to say as a mentor!’
