Just when Counting On fans thought they had seen and heard it all when it came to the Duggar family, a new report has come out that reveals Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth had an “Official Pickle Cutter” at their wedding last May. Apparently, family friend Krista (aka Kris) shared a picture with her friends on Instagram last June of her holding an industrial-sized jar of dills to let them know about her odd responsibility on Joy-Anna and Austin’s big day.
“I felt like I smelled like pickles for days after I was the official pickle cutter at Joy and Austin’s wedding a few weeks ago.” She added, “But seriously, I LOVE being behind the scenes at weddings and watch everything come together.”
Kris went on to write that the wedding was beautiful, the bride was gorgeous, and the cake was delicious. She also said that it is fun to watch the episodes to see what they end up including and how producers “framed everything.”
According to In Touch Weekly, the Duggars have a pickle obsession that seemingly started with Michelle’s first pregnancy thirty years ago. During a 2016 episode of Counting On, Jessa said that her family loves pickles, and every time the kids see their mom eating them they ask if she is pregnant. Since she has 19 kids, it seems Michelle has eaten a lot of pickles in her life.
The family loves the treat so much that Joy-Anna says they take pictures and record every new Duggar’s first experience with it, so they can watch their facial expressions. Recently, Jill Duggar posted a video of her 10-month-old son Samuel trying one for the first time. He didn’t really seem too impressed.
It won’t be long before Joy-Anna will have the opportunity to share a picture of her son Gideon trying a pickle for the first time. He is already three months old, and he is growing fast. Fans can’t help but notice that the little guy looks just like his dad, Austin.
20-year-old Joy-Anna gave birth to Gideon exactly nine months after she and Austin tied the knot, and she says that being first-time parents is “indescribable.” She says she thinks that everyone who has a baby experiences feelings of being proud and thankful. And, she says it is humbling to have a life depending on you.
While growing up, Gideon will have a lot of cousins to play with. There are already ten grand-Duggars so far, and two more are on their way this summer. And, he will surely be a big brother in the not-so-distant future. Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth have said they want as many kids as God thinks they can handle.
New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC later this summer.
