Counting On star Josiah Duggar married Lauren Swanson last weekend, but just days before they said, “I do,” the couple went on a fun-filled trip to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, and it looked like they didn’t bring a chaperone. Did the newlyweds break a major Duggar family rule before they tied the knot?
According to In Touch Weekly, Duggar and Swanson were all smiles and appeared to be having a blast on their date at the amusement park, but fans wanted to know what was going on when they didn’t see any chaperones in the pics.
Duggar fans are familiar with the family’s courting rules, and they know that non-married couples must have supervision when they go out. But, maybe Duggar and Swanson got a pass since it was just a few days before they got married.
“On second thought, it is a little warm out to be wearing a 3-piece suit!” Duggar captioned a pic of him and Swanson posing on a faceless old-timey picture board.
In another photo, the couple smiled while sitting next to a bunch of pizza boxes, but again, they appeared to be on their own.
Duggar and Swanson started dating in January, and by March the couple was engaged. Some fans believe they have caught them breaking courting rules before – they apparently FaceTimed each other without a chaperone, and she started wearing denim miniskirts.
Just like his married siblings, Duggar couldn’t wait to get married, and the couple ended up tying the knot less than four months after announcing their engagement. It doesn’t come as a surprise to fans that there were less than six months between their courting announcement and a walk down the aisle. Now, the only question is how soon will they announce a pregnancy?
Duggar is obviously smitten with his 19-year-old bride. He recently gushed about her on Instagram when he posted a pic of the two of them at the beach and wrote, “There are not enough words to express what you mean to me and how much I love you! You are the best gift God has given to me. Happy Birthday, Lauren! ??? I will love and cherish you all the days of your life. ❤️”
Their registry at Bed Bath & Beyond actually had a wedding date of New Year’s Eve 2018, but it isn’t clear if that was a decoy or if they did actually have to move the date up for an unknown reason. Just like his sister Joy-Anna last year, the change could trigger some shotgun wedding rumors, especially if they announce a pregnancy before the summer is over.
Once they announced their engagement, Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson kept all of their wedding details a secret, but chances are we will get to see it all unfold in the new season of Counting On, which premieres on TLC July 30th.
