Counting On stars Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo announced this past week that they are expecting their first child together, and in a new video on their website, the couple shares their feelings about the pregnancy. Do they think they will have a boy or a girl?
According to Cafe Mom, the expectant parents both predict that they will have a boy, but Vuolo wouldn’t mind “to have a little princess.” It makes sense that the couple would have boys on the brain, considering Duggar’s sisters Jill, Jessa, and sister-in-law Anna all had boys last year. In fact, none of the Duggar daughters have had a girl yet.
In the video, Vuolo shares that he wants their child to be just like his or her mom, but Duggar responds by saying she wants the baby to be like her kind husband.
Jinger is the first Duggar daughter to wait more than a year after getting married to have a baby. Instead, she made it 14 months before a pregnancy announcement. People Magazine is reporting that they first broke the news on their website.
“Now, the journey has taken an exciting turn: we are expecting our first child!” they wrote. “We are praising God for this beautiful gift and ask that you join us in praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy.”
The couple also shared that the first months of their marriage have been the best of their lives and they have both enjoyed life’s journey together, but neither of them fully understood how “amazing” the beginning of the journey would be. The Vuolo’s ended the post with a Bible verse.
The soon-to-be parents got engaged just one month after announcing their courtship and married in November 2016 in front of over 1,000 guests at the Cathedral of the Ozarks at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
Jinger’s announcement comes just a couple weeks after her brother Joseph and his wife, Kendra, revealed that they were expecting their first baby just three months after they got married.
The 24-year-old reality star is known to be a rebel in the family, being the first daughter photographed wearing pants, shorts, and heels. In Touch Weekly reports that she even rocked a pair of ripped jeans for Christmas, and her fans loved it.
Her style choices have seemingly rubbed off on her sister Jill, who is also wearing pants and also shocked fans when she pierced her nose. The Duggar girls revealed in their book Growing Up Duggar back in 2014 that they dressed modestly because their bodies were only to be shared with their husbands.
Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo have not revealed when their bundle of joy is due.
