Counting On stars Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson got married nearly two months ago, and over the weekend, the 19-year-old bride posted a sweet tribute to her new husband on their joint Instagram account. But, it’s Swanson’s fashion choices in the pics she posted that have got fans talking.
“Can’t believe it’s almost been 2 months since I married my best friend!!! #2monthanniversary #marriageisthebest #amazonoutfit,” wrote Swanson.
In the photos, Swanson is wearing a striped top, flowy green skirt, and nude wedge heels, and fans are so impressed with her style they posted compliment after compliment — and one even recommended Swanson start a fashion blog.
Swanson is already making a name for herself with her stylish, yet modest outfits, but at the same time, she manages to fall in line with the Duggar’s strict dress code.
In the past, her mother-in-law, Michelle Duggar, has said that you will never catch a Duggar girl in trendy crop tops or mini-skirts. Instead, they choose to dress modestly — covering everything from shoulders to knees — so they “prevent distractions” when they are courting and keep the “relationship pure.”
However, Swanson has managed to stay on-trend without showing much skin. And, even though these rules apply to courting, she has still kept things modest as a married woman.
Duggar and Swanson tied the knot at John Brown University Cathedral of the Ozarks in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, on June 30th, and they told fans that their wedding day “was absolutely perfect.” The couple then spent their honeymoon in Austria (thanks to their love of The Sound of Music), and the rumors immediately started swirling on Facebook that a pregnancy announcement could be coming in the near future.
Season eight of Counting On is currently airing on TLC, and fans are finally getting a chance to see Duggar and Swanson’s love story play out. Besides their courtship and engagement announcements, plus a few posts on social media, the couple has kept their relationship relatively private, and they didn’t even announce their wedding date to fans in advance.
The couple announced their courtship in late January and their engagement in March. On this week’s episode of Counting On, fans got the chance to see how Duggar proposed, and it looks like Swanson had no idea it was coming. The episode shows footage of Duggar traveling to the location where he popped the question, as well as all of the planning and setting up.
His big sister Jana also talks about how everything will go exactly as they planned. And, they obviously went well since Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson are now husband and wife.
New episodes of Counting On air Monday nights on TLC.
