Counting On star John David Duggar recently announced that he had entered a courtship with Abbie Grace Burnett. The couple told fans that they had met just a few short months ago and quickly fell in love. Duggar also mentioned that they “had known of” each other for a long time, and it turns out the Duggar and Burnett families go back over a decade.
Before their show 19 Kids & Counting started, TLC featured the Duggar family in a few specials, including Raising 16 Children back in 2006. And Clay Burnett, Abbie’s dad, made an appearance.
The Facebook Page Pickles4Truth says that during the special, producers interviewed a number of parents with big families at the Big Sandy ATI (Advanced Training Institute) Camp, including Clay. At the time, the Burnetts had five daughters and three sons.

In Touch Weekly reports that since then, the Burnett family has grown thanks to the addition of husbands, wives, and babies. So, Abbie Grace has her own personal experience of being part of a super-sized family, and that could be one of the reasons John David’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, are so smitten.
“John David brings our hearts so much joy, and we’ve watched him faithfully pray, wait, and trust God for the right girl to come along!” the Duggar parents wrote on their blog.
They went on to write that a “beautiful relationship” blossomed between John-David and Abbie Grace, and they are excited to see what the future holds. And, if the two do eventually get married, the holiday dinner table will get a lot tighter.
Now that John David is courting, he has joined the social media world. He and Abbie Grace started joint Twitter and Instagram accounts, and his sister-in-law Anna congratulated the couple with a special message and a retweet.

Anna doesn’t post on social media very often. After her husband Josh’s sexual molestation and cheating scandals back in 2015, Anna took a two-year hiatus from both Instagram and Twitter. She popped back up a few months ago with the occasional post featuring pics of her five kids. But, the posts are still few and far between.
However, John David Duggar’s big news was important enough that Anna tweeted, “Congratulations! So happy for you both!” She also retweeted a photo the couple posted from their courting announcement.
The last time she tweeted was at the beginning of May when she promoted the parenting film Like Arrows. She also posted pics from the family trip to Waco, Texas, and Josh did show up in one of them. Any time he makes an appearance there is brutal backlash, so that may be one of the reasons why she posts so rarely.
New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC on July 30th.
