‘Counting On’ Star Jinger Duggar Takes A Dig At Disgraced Jill Duggar On Her Birthday

Former Counting On star Jill Duggar celebrated her 27th birthday this past week, but fans noticed that her sister Jinger Duggar didn’t share a tribute of any kind or wish her a happy birthday on social media.
Instead, on Jill’s special day, Jinger posted a throwback photo of herself with her “bestie,” Jessa Duggar, and some think that was the mom-to-be’s way of subtly throwing shade at her big sis for the second time in the past few weeks.
Back in April, Jinger posted a photo on Instagram of herself holding a book with the not-so-subtle title of She’s Got The Wrong Guy: Why Smart Women Settle by Deepak Reju. And, fans were sure it was a passive-aggressive attempt to let her sister know that she wasn’t a fan of Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard.
The post came just two days after Jinger’s disgraced brother-in-law posted some nasty comments on Twitter about Nate & Jeremiah by Design stars Nate Berkus and his husband, Jeremiah Brent.
“What a travesty of family,” Dillard wrote on a promo for the home improvement show. “It’s sad how blatant the liberal agenda is, such that it both highlights and celebrates a lifestyle so degrading to children on public television as if it should be normal.”
Dillard lost his job on Counting On last fall when he went on a transphobic Twitter rant about fellow TLC reality star Jazz Jennings. Since then, he has continued to share controversial comments and post hateful tweets against those he disagrees with. And, fans are noticing that he is losing followers – including Jessa’s husband, Ben Seewald, and members of the Bates family – because of it.
On a recent Reddit thread, fans commented that people clicking the unfollow button on Dillard’s social media pages is the beginning of a “shunning,” and they predict that someone at his church is going to make sure his accounts eventually disappear because they don’t want to be associated with the negative attention. Other Redditors commented that Dillard’s social media behavior is “tacky,” and it isn’t the place for personal, family, or business grievances.
Of course, it is possible that Jinger simply forgot Jill’s birthday. She does have 18 siblings, and she is also expecting a baby, so she could have had other things on her mind. Jinger is 31 weeks pregnant, and she recently posted a baby bump update to let fans know that her baby is now the size of a pineapple.
Jinger Duggar and her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, are expecting a daughter who is due to arrive in July.
New episodes of Counting On will return to TLC later this summer.
