The seventh season of Counting On premiered this week on TLC, and Jinger Duggar Vuolo once again tossed her family’s strict dress code aside and opted for a more revealing look during a game of tennis with her husband, Jeremy Vuolo. Now, fans want to know just what her dad, Jim Bob Duggar, is thinking about his daughter’s latest fashion choices.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, Jinger wore a sleeveless red fitted top and a short black mini skirt during the outing with Jeremy, and fans on social media were quick to point out how happy she looked.
“Oh, snap Jinger! Sleeveless shirt and a short skirt. You better work that outfit,” tweeted one fan. A second fan guessed at how Jinger’s dad may have reacted with a fun hashtag, “Jinger in that tennis skirt… #Rebel #JimBobIsCrying.”
The Duggars imposes strict guidelines on the females in the family – when they are living with their parents – that include long skirts or dresses and no pants. But, once a Duggar girl gets married, it’s the husband who makes the rules on how they dress.
Jim Bob has reportedly clashed with Jeremy over his more-progressive views, but daddy Duggar can’t do anything about it and must respect his son-in-law’s choices.
Jeremy, who is a preacher at Grace Community Church in Laredo, Texas, recently addressed the subject of women’s clothing in a sermon. He said it is your liberty whether you dress modestly in a pair of pants, a skirt, a t-shirt, or a blouse.
But, then he tells the women in the congregation that it is not their liberty to wear sensual, seductive clothing that is designed to draw the attention of men.
He later clarified his views by saying that the emphasis of the gospel is not on food or clothes, and Jesus doesn’t save people to make them wear skirts.
Jinger started becoming the family rebel when she got engaged to Jeremy. She famously gave him a full-frontal hug when he popped the question – a total violation of the rules.
As soon as she tied the knot, she started rocking tight jeans and heels. And she also shocked fans by wearing shorts.
Jeremy is also breaking the rules by sporting a tattoo on the inside of his arm, and he has admitted to drinking alcohol and partying while in college.
The rebel couple has a lot of big things going on in their life right now, including expecting their first child this summer and recently purchasing a new home.
In the Counting On premiere, some of Jinger’s siblings went to Texas for a visit and to see the new house, and they quickly started to share their opinions on the aesthetics of the space.
A big discussion over kitchen cabinet colors had the siblings each giving their two cents on how the room should look, and with everyone trying to share their ideas things got a little chaotic.
As for Jinger Duggar? She seemed easy to please by telling her siblings that she likes it either way.
New episodes of Counting On air on Monday nights on TLC.
