Counting On star Jason Duggar is officially 18 years old, and that means that it is time for him to start courting. The family got together last week to celebrate Jason’s milestone, and after seeing the pics from the party, fans believe that Jason will be the next one to find a mate. Could another Duggar wedding already be in the works?
On the Duggar family Instagram page, fans wrote that it was “time for a courtship,” and one even gave their timeline prediction now that Jason is 18.
“Next week they will announce he’s courting, 3 months later the wedding. 2 months after the baby announcement,” a fan wrote.
Jason! The big 18! We love you so much! You have a very bright future ahead because of your commitment to Christ and your kind way of caring for and serving others. We love the great example you are for your younger brothers and sisters. We are thankful for so many wonderful memories and the exciting days to come! It was a lot of fun to celebrate you with family and friends at your early birthday party.
As OK! Magazine reports, the Duggar kids tend to marry at a young age. They usually start courting in their late teens or early twenties, and the courtships last just a few months. Then there is a quick engagement, a wedding, and a pregnancy. The average Duggar kid takes about one year to go from a courtship announcement to a pregnancy announcement.
Since Jill Duggar walked down the aisle back in 2014, it seems the family has been doing nothing but planning weddings. In that time, Jessa, Jinger, Joy-Anna, and Joseph have all tied the knot. And now, 21-year-old Josiah is currently planning his wedding with 18-year-old Lauren Swanson.
According to their wedding registry on The Knot, the couple is planning a summer ceremony that will take place on August 28th.
The young couple is keeping with Duggar tradition when it comes to their timeline. Josiah began courting Swanson in January, and then they announced their engagement in March. After their August wedding, it is safe to assume that there will be a pregnancy announcement before the end of the year.
The Duggar kid that has the fastest timeline record so far is Jill. She announced her courtship with Derick Dillard in March 2014, and he popped the question in April. The couple married in June of that year, and they announced a pregnancy in August. Then, just thirteen months after they started dating, they welcomed their first child, Israel, in April 2015.
As for Josiah and his bride-to-be, TLC has yet to confirm if it will feature the couple’s wedding on Counting On. But, other Duggar weddings have been on the show, with some of them being special season finale episodes. So, it’s unlikely they will opt out, especially since their courting and engagement announcement videos are on TLC’s YouTube channel.
Other special events that the upcoming season will probably include are the births of Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s daughter and Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell’s son. Both babies are due this summer.
