Corey Feldman launched his crowdfunding Truth Campaign on October 24, 2017, and it concludes on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017. There have been many questions the public has asked surrounding the campaign and two stand out from the rest. First, from the onset of the campaign, the question predominantly asked was why Feldman needed to make a movie. The second question asked was what will happen to the money if Feldman fails to raise his initial goal of $10 million or the second goal of $1 million.
Corey Feldman answered both questions in a series of live questions and answers as well as in his final Truth Campaign video released on December 20, 2017.
As to why Corey Feldman wants to make a movie, he expressed that he’s been speaking out about pedophilia in Hollywood for years. He first told police in a 1993 interview the names of his alleged abusers. Charges were never officially filed and the statute of limitations ensured that Feldman wouldn’t be able to legally press charges.
He has; however, during the Truth Campaign, spoken to authorities and revealed the names of his abusers to the Los Angeles Police Department.
In addition to speaking to the police, both in 1993 and recently, he has appeared on multiple talk shows where he addressed Hollywood’s problem with pedophilia. In addition to those interviews, he wrote a book Coreyography in 2008 where he went into further detail about the abuse he suffered.
Coreyography debuted on the New York Times Best Seller list and continues to draw critical acclaim. Book reviews continue to be positive and Coreyography currently has a four and a half out of five stars rating on Amazon.com.
Feldman has stated that he has tried many avenues to expose pedophiles in Hollywood but feels he isn’t being heard. He has also stated that when writing the book Coreyography, he included the names of his abusers and other people he felt were alleged predators.
The names of the people were changed when the book went through final editing due to legal concerns.
Feldman has stated that he wants to turn Coreyography into a movie so that he can legally state the names of his abusers. This way if he were to be sued for defamation, he would have legal protection and it would be the movie that was sued, not him personally.

The second question that has been asked is what will Corey Feldman do with the money if he doesn’t raise enough to make the movie.
When Corey Feldman first started the Truth Campaign he did so with an IndieGoGo fundraiser for $10 million. He has explained that in that figure would be money for bodyguards to cover two years worth of protection.
The remainder of the money would go to legal fees, making the movie, mailing out perks from the campaign, and donations to charity. After having initial difficulty raising $10 million, he lowered the IndieGogo to $1 million and launched a secondary campaign on GoFundMe.
Unlike the IndieGogo campaign that ends on Dec 24, 2017, the GoFundMe account will continue to remain active into 2018.
Corey Feldman is already using some of the money from the GoFundMe for security and has donated to Child USA. On Saturday, December 16, 2017, Corey and his wife Courtney joined Alan Gurvey and Kerri Kasem (Casey Kasem’s) daughter for an in-studio radio interview. Kerri Kasem was asked where Corey’s security was and she stated they had security with them.

When asked what Corey Feldman would do if he didn’t raise enough money, he said that he wouldn’t quit or give up. He stated he would continue to seek funding and might launch another campaign.
