Saturday Night Live alumni Michael Ché and Colin Jost confirmed today that they would be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards. The chairman of NBC Entertainment, Robert Greenblatt, said in a statement released to several publications that he and the rest of the network’s team are “thrilled” to be inviting the two funny men to their roster.
“I think we are in for one of the funniest awards shows in a long time,” Greenblatt remarked. Lorne Michaels, a creator, and producer for SNL will be the main showrunner for the Emmy’s this year.
Che and Jost have been working together as co-stars since 2014 on the set of the “Weekend Update” segment on SNL. Their legacy on the show is ongoing, with Jost joining it in 2005 as a co-writer.
Reportedly, fans of Che and Jost have to sit tight in their seats as the pair won’t be hosting the ceremony until September of this year after this season’s television shows have finished their final episodes.
Maybe Colin will become too busy for his girlfriend, Scarlett Johansson? As you may know, Colin Jost and Scarlett have been dating for the last few months. The pair has been spotted hanging out together on numerous occasions.
A source close to the lovebirds explained that they had met while on the set of SNL. Johannson has frequently been a guest on the show.
As you may remember, most famously, she characterized Ivanka Trump in the advertisement for the fake-perfume, “complicit.”
In response, Ivanka said she didn’t know what “complicit meant.” The daughter of the president of the United States explained that she does her job every day and lives by her values. The idea of her being “complicit” in anything, was silly and misguided.
