One year after the birth of her daughter, Sienna Princess, mother of two kids, Ciara, is revealing the lengths she took to get back to her pre-baby weight. She says that she was actually even more motivated and fired up to get her baby weight off this time than she was after her first pregnancy. She says it’s a completely different thing when trying to bounce back with two kids instead of one.
The model and singer gained 65 pounds while pregnant with her daughter and was determined to get it off once she was cleared to exercise. She had a very intense system that she was dedicated to.
In between breastfeeding her daughter and running her son to school, she would work out twice a day with her trainer.
She basically found herself in a cycle of breastfeeding, getting her son ready for school, dropping him off, work out, breastfeed again, picking him up from school, then workout again.
She was incredibly dedicated to this regimen and found it worked for her to be so focused in this way. Ciara would then spend quality time with her kids and husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, during the evenings.
The singer recently revealed that she has suffered from diastasis recti, which is a specific postpartum condition where the large abdominal muscles separate.
This greatly influenced the type of ab workouts she would do. She reveals that specifically was challenging because the muscles bulge out differently and must be completely retrained to reconnect as they were before.
With this intense and regimented schedule, she was able to lose 50 lbs in 5 months.
She says she’s slowed down a bunch on her workout routine and does spring for the occasional burger and fries, feeling like life is so much better when you let yourself enjoy food, though definitely in moderation.
Despite thinking she’d like to drop a few more pounds, she says she’s in no rush and actually likes the hips that pregnancy has given her. As does her husband! Ciara says Wilson shows her new hips love too.
