Pop songstress Christina Aguilera joined James Corden’s highly popular Carpool Karaoke which aired last night. She was accompanied by comedic actress Melissa McCarthy. No stranger to a number of hits such as “Genie In A Bottle,” “Fighter,” and “Beautiful,” Aguilera has had quite the impressive career and reminds viewers that she has quite the voice power.
Not only did Aguilera belt out some of her top hits on the Late Late Show, but also chatted with Corden about her start back in the 90s on the Mickey Mouse Club, which also happened to star several names that turned into bonafide superstars.
Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling and Keri Russell were all apart of the cast alongside Aguilera when they were just preteens and teenagers.
Aguilera noted that she did think Ryan Gosling, now a highly lauded and Oscar-nominated actor, had a crush on pop princess Britney Spears back in the day.
Corden joked that Spears much be regretting not dating Gosling over Timberlake, whom Spears had a very public relationship with which ended in 2002.
Aguilera noted that there may have been a bit of a love triangle between Timberlake, Spears and herself when they were kids.
She admits that Timberlake had swag even back then but that ultimately he and Spears were the ones to make a go of it.
Keri Russell, who stars in the hit television show The Americans, recently talked about how the rest of them were 12-13 back then when they were on the show and she was 17 and “could drive.”
Such a talented young pool of castmates for all of them to have the massive careers they’ve enjoyed as they’ve grown.
Melissa McCarthy pops up in the middle of the sing along to aid with the rap lyrics in “Dirty.” Corden jokes that he and McCarthy need pointers from Aguilera about how to be fierce divas.
Aguilera’s career has been one that has spanned nearly two decades and she’s showing no signs of slowing down as she will be releasing new music soon.
A musical icon and legend based on longevity and those pipes alone.
