Chrissy Teigen has never been shy about putting herself out there, whether on camera or social media. The new mother gained millions of fans by being relatable, whether it was about her weight, her looks, or the difficulties she had getting pregnant with her husband, Grammy award-winning singer John Legend.
She’s also not afraid to clap back at internet trolls, particularly over Twitter, her favorite social media platform.
Whether you’re a random troll or even the newly-inaugurated President of the United States, tangle with Chrissy at your own risk – don’t believe me? Take a look at her Twitter feed.
However funny her clapbacks may be, one incident certainly crossed the line. Chrissy and John were at JFK Airport, when she claimed that a paparazzo said to them, “If we evolved from monkeys, why is John Legend still around?”. This is her tweet about the incident, also stating that John was standing there beside her.
As many fans rallied to send her supportive messages, Chrissy went on to say that this paparazzo was probably hoping to provoke a reaction. After all, it’s clearly not enough for these people to invade a celebrity’s privacy and personal space – they have to manufacturer “incidents” to sell pictures nowadays.
Chrissy tweeted that the identity of the racist photog would be revealed when he released the video – most likely editing out his disgusting rant, of course. When asked by a fan why she didn’t fight back, Chrissy gave a simple response: The scumbag photog didn’t stop there. Apparently, he continued with his next target – Jews.
The paparazzi are a daily part of life for celebrities, but no one deserves this kind of hate and abuse. Until this photog decides to sell his video, his identity will be a mystery.
If celebrities were wary of over-zealous paparazzi fighting for the perfect shot, now they have to deal with this?
We’re glad Chrissy and John seem to shrug this whole thing off – but is this a sign of things to come? Let’s hope not, for all our sakes.
