After eight years of marriage, Chris Pratt and Anna Faris announced last month that they were legally separating. However, the couple, who are parents to five-year-old Jack, have begun counseling and are waiting to file for divorce.
Does that mean that there is a chance for reconciliation? According to an insider the answer is no, and apparently, the reason neither has filed for divorce yet is money. More specifically, they don’t want lawyers cashing in on their split.
The couple is trying to keep things as friendly as possible, and will reportedly go through mediation to divide their assets and set up a custody agreement for Jack.
In the meantime, the couple are in counseling because there is still “a lot of love between them.” They also want to be the best parents they can be for Jack.
Not sure what made me more proud: when Jack insisted on holding this barracuda himself, or when he tried it raw! (Barracuda sashimi is amazing by the way) haha!! 4 year olds will try anything! Get out and fish! No better way to share God's bounty with your babies and make life long memories than fishing! Get out on the water! #fishing #fishingislife
The couple made this clear when they announced their separation on Instagram.
“We tried really hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep the situation as private as possible moving forward. We still love each other and will always cherish our time together.”
After his starring role in Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, Chris Pratt’s career has exploded. He has been working non-stop and been away from home quite a bit. Sources say that Faris felt “isolated” with Pratt being gone so much, and Pratt is “frustrated” because she knew what she was getting into when she married him. With her being in the industry, too, she knows the required commitments.
Faris is turning to her co-stars on the CBS series Mom for support during the breakup. Allison Janney, who plays Faris’ mom on the show, told Entertainment Tonight that both Faris and Pratt are loved, and it is sad when people have to “go their separate ways.”
Janney says that Faris has been coping well, and is professional on the set. Faris is doing her work, and the cast is “surrounding her with love.”
